About Us
Who we are
TopicsMill is a research and study resource that helps students and educators move from “I need a topic” to “I have a clear plan.” We curate topic ideas across major subjects and pair them with practical guidance—how to narrow a topic, draft a thesis, build an outline, and present findings. We aim to be the most helpful starting point for academic and classroom work.
Our Story
TopicsMill was launched in 2019 by Loraine Walters, an educator and editor who has spent her career helping learners develop stronger arguments and clearer writing. The project began as a simple list of conversation starters for debate club and quickly grew into a cross-disciplinary library of essay, research, speech, and thesis topics.
From the beginning, we made two commitments: usefulness over noise and transparency over shortcuts. Every page we publish should save time, reduce stress, and give readers reliable next steps.
